Ms. Wenping Li, Principal and board member of Tsinglan School, Executive Principal of Tsinghua International School (THIS) and a board member of the Beijing Innovative Education Society. She has earned a Secondary School Senior Teacher Certificate and the title of Beijing Elite Teacher. Before entering THIS in 2010, Ms. Li had 19 years of experience in basic education and achieved tremendous results. 11 years of working in International education makes Ms. Li vastly experienced in school management, curriculum and instruction, school operation, teacher development, student support and admission and recruitment. Ms. Li’s leadership approach not only focuses on the macro-development/growth of an school, it is also detail-oriented as evident in her diligent, industrious work ethic and her pursuit of excellence. Schools under Ms. Li’s leadership has achieved incredible university acceptance results with students admitted to renowned institutions including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, and Tsinghua University.


Bruce G. Hammond, Academic Principal, came to China in 2008 and was among the first Americans to work as a college counselors in a Chinese public school.  He served as Foreign Vice Principal and Director of College Counseling at Tsinghua University High School in Beijing, where he helped to found Tsinghua International School.  Later, he was Head of Secondary School at Tsinghua University High School International at Chaoyang.  He also served as Director of College Counseling of the I.B. program at the High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University and was previously Deputy Director of Kunming No. 1 High School International Center.  Prior to coming to China, Bruce was a teacher and administrator in U.S. independent private schools.  He was Managing Editor of the Fiske Guide to Colleges and is co-author of four books in the Fiske series.  Bruce received a B.A. degree in Economics and Political Science from Yale University and an M.A.T. in Social Studies Education from Brown University.


Board Secretary and Administrative Assistant Principal: Lin Jingzi (Lara). Ms. Lin graduated from Wuhan Universityof Technology and the University of Hong Kong, and has been teaching in Tsinghua High School for over ten years. She was awarded as an excellentteacher, has a wealth of front-line teaching and management experience, and isvery popular with the students. She lived in the United States for two years, was engaged in primary and secondary education administrative work, and gaineda deep understanding of the education differences between China and the Westand different schools’ operating models. In the future, she will continue to oninternational education at Tsinghua University High School, bringing to Chinesestudents the United States’ best teaching model, creating a platform with infinite possibilities for well-rounded development of students.


Operations Assistant Principal: Li Chong. Mr.Li graduated from Tsinghua University in computer science and technology, Canada University of Regina in SK computer science, and has been teaching in Tsinghua University for more than 20 years since return to China. He has more than 20 years of management experience in educational network security and resource management.


June Li, vice-principal in charge of the marketing, enrollment and boarding, coming from THHS. After graduated from Chongqing University for her master degree, she worked at the National Key Middle School for 18 years. She has been the provincial excellent teacher, academics leader and one of the Top Ten Young Teachers. She has been awarded the national special prize for his model lesson, hosted and taken part in many projects at national level. Several articles of hers have been published on national publications. Besides, she is also a textbook evaluation expert of Ministry of Education. She has served for a long time as an expert of national training, examinant of teacher-recruitment and certification, and evaluation expert of senior title in the middle schools. With love for students and education, she is devoting herself to create the most suitable education for students.


Lower School Director and Chinese Coordinator: Zhao Xuebin (Aui). A Tsinghua High School Alumni, Mr. Zhao earneda Master of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics in Capital Normal University. He has taught Chinese at the Universidad EAN in Colombia, the Eisenhower Elementary School in Minnesota, United States, and then worked at TsinghuaUniversity High School. He was a visiting student of the late Professor andacoustic phonetics expert Kenneth N. Stevens at MIT and is currently a member of the International Chinese Language Society (IACL).


Yanhong Niu, deputy secretary of Tsinglan School, coming fromTsinghua University High School. She graduated from the Mathematics Department of Northeast Normal University and is now a senior mathematics teacher. After 25 years in Tsinghua University High School, she had served as a class teacher, grade leader and branch secretary. She has extensive teaching and management experience.


Ying Zhang, Director of Preschool, joined Tsinglan since the foundation of school. She gained a Bachelor’s degree awarded by Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master’s degree awarded by the University of Texas at Dallas. With a dozens years of working and living experiences in Europe and American, Ying has accumulated profound experiences of western culture and rich experiences in cross-cultural management practices.


Director of Studies and Head of Upper School: Meng Li. An alumna of Tsinghua University High School, Ms. Li graduated from Yale University (B.A.), Middlebury College (M.A.), and Columbia University (M.Ed). She serves as a member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and a member of Cognia (formerly AdvancED). Prior to joining Tsinglan in 2017 as a founding faculty member, Ms. Li taught at Riverdale Country School in New York City for seven years, and worked as the accreditation chair there. She served as a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. She has also worked as the Program Dean for the Oxbridge Academic Programs at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.



Houming Jiang, the middle school division head in Tsinglan School, joining Tsinglan School in August 2020. He received a bachelor in accounting at Xiamen University, got a master at Columbia University, and is pursuing a doctor in the University of Hong Kong. He is licensed in both China and U.S. He was on the founding team of one of the  international Schools in Shenzhen and served as the deputy division head of middle school. He was the founding faculty of a project-based learning program at International School of Beijing. Houming also taught in rural Yunnan on the Burmese border for two years. Houming enjoys training in triathlon.


Laurence Curtis, PE Lead teacher.Mr. Curtis graduated from the  University of Brighton in the U.K., majoring in sports and coaching. He  has worked at the St Andrew’s Catholic Kindergarten in Eastbourne,and  at Taunton School in Somerset, southwest England. He Likes sports and traveling, and has volunteered for Football 4 Peace in Ireland, Israel, Zambia and South Korea. He likes to play handball, football, and golf in his free time.


Jack Wang, assistant director of lower school/chinese teacher. Mr. Wang, an alumnus of Tsinghua University High School, Ms. Wang earned his M.A. in Chinese Studies (Chinese Language Education) at Hong Kong University of Education, is a certified teacher by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, a life planning mentor, and a B.A. graduate from Capital Normal University majoring in Chinese language and literature. He had been involved in the development of the Chinese textbooks used at Tsinghua International School. Mr. Wang understands different educational experiences,  especially Hong Kong's international education philosophy, which he can combine with the Chinese education in the Mainland. His classes integrate Chinese education with multicultural elements, supplemented by drama, music, and presentation. 


Tina Wang, Pre-school Administrative Director, Tsinghua High School Alumni. Ms Wang received her bachelor’s and master's degrees from Tsinghua University, majoring in economics and HR management and was awarded Excellent Student Leader. She visited the United States twice as a student representative, completing the management program at Babson College and the leadership program by the International Leadership Foundation. She has worked for the Head Office of China Construction Bank and Tsinghua Unigroup and took the role of Operations Chief of one of Beijing International Kindergarten. She loves singing, running, swimming and has a cheerful and easygoing character. Enthusiastic for early childhood education, she also has international kindergarten work experience.


Joe Qiao, Director of Operations/ Humanities teacher, one of the member of the founding leadership of Tsinglan School. He is a current Doctoral Student in the program of Doctor of Management provided by University of Arizona. He has received three master's degrees, including the Master of Curriculum and Teaching Theory of Northeast Normal University, the Master of Financial Management from the US, and the Master of Organization and Human Resource Management of University of Hong Kong. He is also an outstanding Teacher in Tsinghua University High School who won the first prize at Teaching Competition for Young Teachers and the special award in the competition of micro-video producing. With over more than 10 years of experience in teaching and management, he has deeply understand the contents and characteristics of humanities teaching. Meanwhile he with a deep accumulation and summary of politics, history, and geography. Besides, he is familiar with the psychological development characteristics of K12 students and concerned with the diverse development of students. In the near future, he will work with the humanities and social sciences faculty to provide students with humanities lectures that combine Chinese and Western elements in Tsinghua’s teaching style. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, photography and coffee making, and affects everyone around him with a positive mindset.


Ming, College Counselling, was born in Fujian, China and moved to the United States at childhood. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Yale University in East Asian Studies and Master degree in Global Studies in Education from University of Illinois-Champaign. She made brilliant achievements while acting as the College Counselling at THHS. With nearly five years of experience counseling students regarding various topics in international education, she has guided more than one hundred students through the college application process to the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, China, Korea, Japan, and Singapore. As a college counselor, she loves working with students to identify their interests and passions and guiding students to pursue their academic goals. She believes fervently in the concept of Best Fit when it comes to making a college list and works with students to enhance and best highlight their strengths on their college applications worldwide. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, Ming is more than thrill to join the Tsinglan family and work with students and families in their search for higher education. When Ming is not in her office, you can always find her hunting for a good bite, hitting the gym, or stretching on a yoga mat.

Xusheng Zhang, a school counselor, Teacher Development Institute Director, SEL (social emotion learning) program leader, is one of the founding members of the Tsinglan School. She graduated from the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a major in applied psychology. She has received systematic and professional training in the field of psychological counseling, including psychoanalysis, humanism, behaviorism, group counseling and crisis intervention. She is the lecture in Senior Psychological Counselor of Beijing United Family Hospital, Beijing Education College Primary and Secondary School Mental Health Teacher Psychological Counseling Technology Enhancement Training Instructor, lecturing on "Consultation Technology in Action Phase" and "Crisis Intervention". Her main areas of counseling include scientific parenting, personality issues, adolescent growth, marital relationships, family relationships, environmental adaptation, potential development, stress management, emotional management, team management, and interpersonal relationships. In 2008, as a special expert of the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, she went to Wenchuan to carry out psychological crisis intervention, and won the title of Advanced Worker of the Second Psychologists Conference, and spoke as a representative in the Great Hall of the People.
